In observance of Holy Wednesday, my column today will be dedicated to three celebrities in the spiritual world and how they went about giving their lives to God. Three spiritual man and women from different religions serving one God and all three believing that God’s son Jesus Christ came down to earth and sacrificed his life for our sins.

Sister Happy Anna Crisvie

Author with Sister Happy Crisvie

At three years old, Happy’s parents were shot by a security guard in their home while she was sleeping. “My father was the head security of a small compound where we lived as well. One time some guards tried to prank one of their peers and hid his gun while he was sleeping. Then they woke him up abruptly and said his gun was missing, and they were all laughing at him. You know the saying – Biruin mo ang lasing huwag lang ang bagong gising. – That apparently is real. The security guard blew his top over the prank and got his companion’s gun and shot all his peers that were part of the prank. Then he headed over to my father’s house and shot my father and mother while my siblings and I were sleeping. I grew up an orphan. On the day I took my vows, I requested to see in prison the guard that shot my parents and chose to forgive him. Both of us were crying. Only in forgiveness can I move on. Forgiveness can set you free. I knew that if I forgave him, I can serve the Lord truly with no holds barred. Now I can say that I am living my name – Happy – because I am happy I was able to forgive and let go. Sister Happy and I go around Quezon City feeding the homeless every Friday. Should you wish to donate to our cause or just have a one-one talk with Sister Happy, you can visit her at the Daughters' of St. Anne in New Manila, Quezon City.

Suprema Isabel Suarez

Just as I was led to the Daughters of St. Anne Convent in New Manila by the Holy Spirit so was I led to the foot of the sacred Mount Banahaw to meet the “Misticas”, mystic members of a religious organization called Suprema de la Iglesia del Ciudad Mistica de Dios, Inc. Their leader is Suprema Isabel Suarez, a humble, generous, miraculous and wise woman in her 90s. Most researchers from all over the world travel on a pilgrimage to get to Dolores, Quezon, and sometimes do not even get to meet the Suprema. Pilgrims from as far Australia, Botswana, Colombia, Egypt, Estonia, Guatemala, Haiti, Jordan, Japan, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Luxembourg, Morocco, Paraguay, Seychelles, Syria, Taiwan, USA, UAE, Ukraine, Yugoslavia and even Zimbabwe have visited her and asked for her blessing. On my part, I was having breakfast with my landlord in Dolores, Quezon where I stayed for six months shooting my television series Niña Niño and I asked her, “I have never been out of my taping bubble for six months. But since my taping has finally come to an end, I am looking for the Misticas of Mount Banahaw. Any chance you know one of them?” She asked me to ride with her and in 20 minutes, I was being given a “whisper” blessing by the Suprema, Nanay Sabel (Isabel Suarez), which turns out to be her direct grandmother, sister of her mother. What are the odds? The elders told me how lucky I was because with the age and ailments of Nanay Sabel, she does not see everyone that comes and visits even if they come from far and wide. Several days ago, she refused to receive a prominent member of the presidential cabinet because she was feeling ill. But on the day I came, I was able to interview her, and she answered all my questions and even asked for my address. I was wondering what the address was for. The elders (all women) answered that Nanay Sabel astral travels. The Suprema has the ability to transport her spirit to places and visit people and places she likes. The Suprema talks in deep Tagalog, so I took the liberty of translating my interview with her in English, “I was 22 when I refused to accept my responsibility as Suprema. I was studying medicine in Manila and I got very sick. I was confined in the hospital for 20 days, but the doctors could not diagnose my illness. My father convinced me to climb the holy mountain of Banahaw and upon reaching the top, I felt my body fully recovered. I realized that my illness was connected to my refusal to become the Suprema. So I decided to accept the  elders’ offer to become their new Suprema. I used to heal but, I am old now, so I leave the healing to them (referring to the elderly women of the community.) Our place is open to everybody, Giselle. When Taal erupted which I saw in a vision, hundreds of evacuees relocated here, and we received them. Our group believes in sharing, God’s love, faith by good works, and hope on Christ’s second coming. We follow the ten commandments.  Our group upholds values such as Cleanliness, Righteousness, Enlightenment, Truth, Humility and Suffering. Our main core is prayer to God. We have groups that are assigned to pray the whole day. Prayer moves mountains and saves lives. ”The Suprema de la Iglesia del Ciudad Mistica de Dios, Inc has around 100,000 members worldwide, it was founded in Dolores, Quezon and its prominent founding member is our national hero Jose Rizal.

Tatay Dodong Limchua

Nonito 'Dodong' Limchua

Nonito “Dodong” Limchua was a Chinese businessman and self-proclaimed womanizer living in Cebu before he met God. He suffered a massive stroke that rendered him disabled and his friend invited him to join a Catholic Charismatic Life in the Spirit Seminar in Oasis of Love Manila. During the “baptism of the Holy Spirit” he felt healing and slowly recovered back to normal and decided to offer his life to God and established the Oasis of Love Cebu chapter. Today, Tatay Dodong has more than 10,000 members in the Visayas and he goes around Visayan prisons healing their sicknesses (mostly covid) and spreading the word of God. Tatay Dodong is now in his 80s, but walks and moves faster than me. He has the ability to heal hundreds of people by the power of touch or virtually, but does not attribute the power to himself but the Holy Spirit. He also says that if a person goes back to sinning again, the power of healing goes away. You may reach him via messenger – Nonito Limchua – or dm Oasis of Love Cebu Facebook page.
