The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), on Monday, April 11, welcomed the signing of Executive Order (EO) 167 which aims to strengthen the organizational structure of PCW.
“This EO raises the Chairperson’s rank to Undersecretary, increases sectoral representation, and creates a PCW secretariat,” said the Commission.
EO 167 was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on April 6, noting the Commission's expanded role and scope of work.
Meanwhile, despite the changes in the agency’s structure, PCW said that it will continue its goal of pushing diversity and inclusion in the Philippines.
“This Chapter will open us new opportunities and will enable us to listen to more important voices towards our goal of empowering Juanas from all walks of life,” said PCW Executive Director Kristine Yuzon-Chaves.
