DepEd-9 announces its readiness to implement F2F classes in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- The Department of Education (DepEd 9) has announced its preparedness to open all elementary and high schools in Zamboanga City for the progressive implementation of limited face-to-face classes.

City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roy Tuballa said his office had long prepared guidelines and protocols for face-to-face classes even before Zamboanga City was placed under Alert Level 1.

“Actually we have been preparing for this even before when the city was not yet under Alert Level 1. We are anticipating that the rate of vaccination in the city will be under Alert Level 1. But prior to this alert level we have been preparing for the face to face classes,” Tuballa said.

He said the majority of school children from ages 5 to 11 have been fully inoculated against Covid-19.

The school superintendent said everything is in order after meeting with the Department of Health for the guidelines and health protocols of the pupils.

The opening of the progressive face to face classes has the concurrence of the local government unit through the local chief executive and the Inter Agency Task Force.
