2,768 cops deployed for Oplan SumVac in Cordillera


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Some 2,768 police officers are set to answer call of duty starting Monday, April 11, under ‘Ligtas Summer Vacation’ (Sumvac 2022) to ensure the safety of motorists and travelers this summer.

Of the 2,768 personnel from the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PROCOR), 344 personnel are deployed in places of convergence; 16 personnel in transportation hubs and terminals; and 226 police officers are deployed in other areas.

Capt. Marnie Abellanida, deputy regional information officer, said that in line with Project TALYER (Traffic Assistance to Level Up and Yield Efficient Results), 2,271 police officers are deployed as Route Security.

Abellanida said a total of 1,463 force multipliers and community-based volunteer groups have also been tapped to assist the authorities in implementing all necessary measures to ensure the safety of everyone this summer.

In preparation for the May 9 National and Local Elections, a total of 351 police officers were recalled coming from the National Police College in Silang, Cavite; Cordillera Administrative Region Training Center (CARTC) in Baguio; Bangsamoro Autonomous Region Training Center (BARTC); and Regional Training Center 2 & 3 to have them undergo mandatory training for election duties.
