Taguig LGU says all election campaign events, large gatherings need permit


The Taguig City government said all election campaign-related events including rallies and caucuses, and large gatherings like concerts need permit or clearance.

The Taguig Safe City Task Force issued Advisory No. 69 on April 4 on the updated guidelines in the conduct of events in Taguig based on announcements issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on the implementation of Alert Level 1 in the National Capital Region (NCR) from April 1 to 15.

Under the new advisory, prior approval by the Taguig Safe City Task Force is needed for events or gatherings with large crowds. These include the following:

a. Concerts

b. Exhibitions and trade shows

c. Rallies, caucuses, caravans and other election campaign activities

d. Other similar activities.

All contact sports tournaments or leagues also need approval from the Safe City Task Force.

On the other hand, the task force said gatherings with an expected number of guests or attendees of less than 200, except for election campaign-related activities, do not need clearance. These include:

a. Intimate social or family gatherings, such as birthday parties, wedding ceremonies and receptions, engagement parties, bridal or baby showers, reunions;

a. Company gatherings, such as seminars, small conferences, meetings

b. Booths or pop-up store installations

C. Store openings

d. Product launches or promotions

e. Bazaars

f. Movie screenings

g. Street busker/performers

h. Graduations or moving-up ceremonies

i. Photo and video shoots

It said based on IATF guidelines, all 18 years old and above in Taguig need to present proof of vaccination before they can participate in mass gatherings or enter indoor establishments. These include:

a. In-person religious gatherings

b. Gatherings for necrological services, wakes, inurnment,funerals for those who died of causes other than Covid-19 and for the cremains of the Covid-19 deceased

c. All indoor dine-in services of food preparation establishments such as kiosks, commissaries, restaurants and eateries

d. Fitness studios, gyms and venues for exercise and sports

e. All indoor cinemas or movie houses operating at full capacity

f. Meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibition events, and permitted venues for social events such as parties, wedding receptions, engagement parties, wedding anniversaries, debut and birthday parties, family reunions, and bridal or baby showers

g. Venues with live voice or wind-instrument performers and audiences such as in karaoke bars, clubs, concert halls, and theaters

h. Indoor ancillary establishments in hotels and other accommodation establishments

i. Venues for election-related events.

The Taguig task force also reminded that “well-fitted masks must be worn properly, whether outdoors or in indoor private or public establishments” except in the following instances:

a. Eating and drinking

b. Participating in team and individual sports in venues where ventilation standards can be maintained

c. Practicing outdoor sports/exercise activities where physical distance can be maintained

“The implementation of the guidelines provided above shall be closely and regularly monitored. These guidelines are subject to change, in accordance with the evaluation of the Safe City Task Force and the issuances of the IATF-EID, and other relevant national government agencies and offices,” it said.

Anyone found violating the guidelines will be penalized, the task force warned.
