Police arrested a man who allegedly tried to rob a female dentist in her dental clinic in Barangay Malanday, Valenzuela City on Monday afternoon, April 4.
Lt. Armando Delima, Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) Sub-station 6 commander, identified the suspect as Romeo Manuel, 26, from Baseco Compound, Tondo, Manila.
According to the police, Manuel entered the victim’s dental clinic on McArthur Highway in Barangay Malanday at around 5 p.m., posing as a patient in need of dental services.
Suddenly, the suspect pulled out a knife and declared a holdup to the female dentist.
The victim managed to escape and immediately asked for help from traffic enforcers and police officers from the VCPS Sub-station 6.
Manuel was arrested after a brief chase, police said.
Seized from the suspect were a folding knife, a cable tie, a duct tape, and P700 cash.
Police said that Manuel was previously charged with robbery in Manila and was released in March 2022.
The suspect will be charged with attempted robbery/holdup with threat and intimidation, and violation of Batas Pambansa 6 in relation to Comelec Resolution 10728 that prohibits the carrying and transportation of firearms and other deadly weapons during the election period.
