The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) will continue the video conferencing format between revenue officer and taxpayer in settlings tax liabilities.
The electronic setup was introduced two years ago as an alternative mode to face-to-face hearing of administrative cases which wasq a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19.
BIR Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay stated in Revenue Memorandum Order 22-2022 that the electronic arrangement will be applied in areas hit by calamities like typhoon, earthquake and flood.
The BIR chief also told taxmen to use the same format during strike, lockdown and other human-induced by events.
He said taxpayers may also request for a teleconference for security and safety reasons.
