Pagasa warns of April getting hotter


DAGUPAN CITY – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) is reminding people to be careful enough, especially with April expected to be a lot hotter.

The state weather bureau said it recorded 53 degrees Celsius in Dagupan City last March 17 which was the highest heat index so far this year.

At around 2 p.m. on March 30, Pagasa said the heat index in Dagupan City was 50 degrees Celsius.

The hot weather already took its toll last Monday when the Dagupan City Police received information from Rommel De Vera, chief tanod of Brgy Pantal, Dagupan City, Pangasinan about the dead body of Ronald Baracas.

The lifeless body of the 41 stay-in construction worker and a resident of Brgy. Capantolan, Sual, Pangasinan was found at the 3rd floor/roof top of a house that was under renovation at Sitio Guam, Brgy. Pantal, Dagupan City.

The City Health Office represented by Dr. Benjamin Marcial O. Bautista who immediately responded and conducted a cursory examination confirmed the death of Baracas who died of heart failure due to heat stroke.

The cadaver was brought to Abalos Funeral Homes at Dagupan City for autopsy examination.
