Alleged double-cross leads to fatal shooting of two drug traders in Quezon province


TIAONG, Quezon- Two construction workers who are both on the police’s list of street-level individuals (SLI) for selling illegal drugs were shot dead by suspected SLIs on Sunday morning at Sitio Tabura Silangan, Barangay Del Rosario, in this town.

The police report identified the victims as Manuel Pansoy Roxas alias Owel, 51, and Randy Villanueva Roxas, 26, and both were residents of Sitio VCT, Brgy. Lusacan in this town.

The suspects were Frederick Renton Sadili alias Bawek, of Brgy. San Isidro, Candelaria town and Allan Olivera alias Nano, and resident of the said village. Sadili is said to be in the SLI list also, according to the police.

The police said they responded to the scene of the crime after receiving a call from Jennifer Nitro, a chairwoman of Brgy. Del Rosario, at around 11:30 a.m. that there was a shooting incident.

According to the police report, the victims on-board a Honda motorcycle without a plate number and the suspects arrived at a forested area of Sitio Tabura of said village. The suspects, without any apparent reason, shot the victims several times, inflicting gunshots to the different parts of the victims’ bodies. Both victims died on the spot.

According to the witness, Maximo Aguirre, the suspects immediately took the sling bag of Randy Roxas and fled on foot towards the forested part of the said place.

Police probers are looking into the possibility that the victims were double-crossed. The police intelligence operatives are still conducting hot pursuit operations for the possible apprehension of the suspects.
