The Crossovers squandered a two-set advantage but managed to regain their composure on time to gain enough points needed in the battle for sixth to ninth places.

Dindin Manabat erupted for 32 points that included 26 kills, three blocks and three aces to provide the necessary spark for Chery Tiggo, which stepped up in the crunch to outplay the Troopers.

Mylene Paat also sparkled for the Crossovers with 22 points highlighted by 20 attacks and two blocks while Joy Dacoron, Rachel Austero and Maika Ortiz provided reinforcements with a combined 14 points.

Jasmine Nabor also proved instrumental for the Crossovers’ victory by converting 27 excellent sets on top of two points.

Despite the loss, Army still remains on top of the phase table with four points. Chery Tiggo, whose win earned them two points, will face BaliPure on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at The Arena in San Juan City.

A straight-set or four-set victory for the Crossovers will place them seventh in the nine-team competition.
