2 fires hit residential areas in Muntinlupa, Taguig


Two fires hit residential areas in Muntinlupa and Taguig on April 2.

According to the Muntinlupa City Fire Station, two houses were razed by fire at Block 53 in Soldiers Hills Village, Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa at 8:42 p.m.

The first alarm was raised at 8:42 p.m. and the fire was put out at 10:36 p.m. No one was injured in the fire which affected one family or four individuals. Investigators estimated the damage to property at P1.5 million.

The fire station is investigating the origin and cause of the fire. A total of 31 fire trucks and three ambulances responded to the scene.

Meanwhile, a fire hit a residential area in Purok 1 A Pinagkaisa Ext., Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig at about 12:16 p.m. on April 2.

According to the Taguig City Fire Station, the fire originated from the second floor of the house of one Vilma Manlangit.

The fire razed two houses and partially burned five others, affecting 15 families or 35 individuals. Investigators estimated the damage to property at P80,000.

A total of 24 fire trucks and two ambulances responded to the incident. Firefighters put out the fire at 1:38 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Before this, a fire razed 50 houses in Barangay Calzada, Taguig at about 9:49 a.m., killing three people and injuring one.
