In BBM Vlog no.167, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Bongbong Marcos shared the most important lesson he learned decades ago as a scout ranger trainee in Camp Capinpin in Tanay Rizal.

Marcos even gave a shout-out to his head training officer, Col. Benjamin Samonte, who interacted with him on his social media.

"Thank you sir, kahit na pinahirapan niyo kami ng husto, marami talaga kaming natutunan (even if you gave us hard time, we really learned a lot) and it made us better soldiers and better people," the UniTeam figurehead said.

Marcos, 64, said he was part of Special Forces Operations Training SFOC Class 21A-79, with the 79 meaning the year 1979.

"I'd have to say na kahit napakahirap ng dinaanan namin, dahi syempre training talaga pang sundalo, marami talaga akong naranasan na hanggang ngayon dala ko pa rin sa aking pagtrabaho, sa aking pamumuhay (even if we went through very hard training, because we were being trained as soldiers, the many experiences I had has stuck with me with my work, way life).

"One of many of that is you have to be disciplined, you look after other people, your people, before yourself. That has served me well in all my time in public service," the Ilocano Palace bet said.

Marcos, son for the late strongman President Ferdinand Marcos, became a multi-term Ilocos Norte governor and a one-time senator, among other things.

He is running alongside running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte in the May 9 polls.
