Robin Padilla has big problem with 'chop suey' voting

CARMEN, Davao del Norte--UniTeam Senatorial aspirant Robin Padilla has called for an end to what he described as "chop suey" voting.

Speaking to attendees of a UniTeam rally here, Padilla underscored the importance of voting for candidates who are all on the same page.

A good example of this is UniTeam's presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

At walang makakagawa niyan kundi si Inday Sara Duterte (My countrymen, President Duterte’s term is coming to an end and someone has to continue what he began. And nobody else can do that except Inday Sara Duterte)," he said.

Of course you can't vote for a vice president and then vote for a president who isn't that vice president's partner)," noted the popular movie star.

Hindi po pupuwedeng ganun (Let's put a stop to the chopsuey tradition--that is, voting for a president, a vice president, and senators who are from different election tickets. We can't do that)," he said.

Actually, the Filipino electorate can candidates across various tickets; it is for this reason why Padilla subsequently made this appeal to Carmen folk:

In this instance, if we really want change, we choose Bongbong Marcos as president, Inday Sara Duterte as vice president and of course vote for the UniTeam senators)," he said, essentially asking Filipinos to vote straight with UniTeam.

Chop suey is a dish that's mainly characterized by its various vegetable ingredients. Thus, it is a very colorful dish.

Padilla is in the winners' circle in the upcoming May 2022 Senate race as far as recent surveys are concerned.
