The UniTeam tandem of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is closer than ever to victory in the upcoming May 9 polls.

This was basically the assessment of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) President and House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez on effect of the Nacionalista Party's (NP) endorsement of the Marcos-Duterte tandem on Tuesday, March 29.

“The endorsement of the Villar-led party inches Marcos and Duterte further closer towards the post that they are seeking,” Romualdez said, referring to NP President and former Senate President Manny Villar.

“The support of one of the country’s biggest and oldest political parties will certainly make a difference as we work hard to consolidate forces and support to the UniTeam tandem in this crucial period of the campaign," added the Leyte 1st district congressman.

Romualdez is one of two campaign managers of Mayor Duterte, who for the first time is carrying out a national election campaign.

Romualdez and Marcos are cousins.

Romualdez said the support that Marcos and Duterte received from the NP will certainly boost their chances and assure them of victory in the May elections.

Both UniTeam candidates have been consistent leaders in pre-election surveys.
