No fare hike for commercial airlines- CAB

As the prices of petroleum products continue to rise and remain unstable, the Civil Aeronautic Board (CAB) assured the public that there is no immediate reason for any fare hike on commercial flights.

Lawyer Elric Peredo, head of the CAB operations, said that based on their assessment, there is still no need for any fare hike on commercial flights.

"Since 2018, we have not imposed an increase in the fare of commercial airlines, but we have a so -called fuel surcharge policy that the airlines follow," said Peredo.

But Peredo admitted that they are already discussing the issue, especially that there is still no clear projection if the prices petroleum products would stabilize amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
