Around 200 women on the reproductive stage joined the family planning caravan launched by the Las Pinas City government on Tuesday, March 29.
Vice-Mayor April Aguilar said the family planning caravan, with the theme “Pamilyang Planado, Siguradong Panalo,” launched by the city government in coordination with the City Health Office (CHO, )was held at the covered court in Barangay Ilaya.
Aguilar personally supervised the caravan and was joined by 200 women coming from different barangays in District 1.
The vice-mayor said the city government and the CHO conducted family planning counseling, the process of helping individuals to informed and voluntary choices about the number of children, and the spacing of the children within the family.
Aguilar said that after the counseling, the women were given free injectable pills, condoms, and progestin.
She said the projects also aim to encourage the women to choose the method in planning the number of children they want to have.
