Benguet solon awarded Congressman of the Year

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Eric Go Yap achieved a milestone in his budding political career as he became a recipient of Nation Builders and Mosliv Award.

Go, who has been party-list representative for ACT-CIS since 2019, was awarded Congressman of the Year by the NBMA last March 19 in Parañaque City.

The neophyte lawmaker was chosen by the NBMA committee for his effective leadership in the House of Representatives and for authoring hundreds of bills and resolutions.

Yap has been known to be a supporter of the oppressed and the marginalized in society.

Yap was among the principal authors of House Bill No. 5477 which became Republic Act No. 11463 in December 2019 which is an act to establish the Malasakit Centers, a one-stop shop for government medical and financial assistance.

The people of Benguet love him and that served as a driving force to push the most-awaited long vision of development in the province.

“I just work, whatever the results to have an award, as long as I can help our provincemate in Benguet, as long as I bring their needs here,” said Yap.

“I can see their love for me. The feeling of love and being loved in return is as if I won now and that's what keeps me going,” added Yap.

The NBMA 2022 recognized various members of government, non-government, and private organizations and departments for their efforts in fostering and implementing sustainable solutions and practices for the social and environmental development of communities.
