Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons yielded to Nikki Laird and Phoebe Bell, 21-18, 21-12, to settle for the silver medal in the women’s elite of the Australia Beach Volleyball Championship Sunday.

It was a big boost for the PH duo despite the defeat as they are using the exposure as a training ground for their 31st Southeast Asian Games campaign slated in Hanoi, Vietnam in May.

Prior to their runner-up finish, Rondina and Pons survived Jasmine Fleming and Britt Kendall, 21-13, 17-21, 15-10, in the semifinal.

Rondina and Pons, along with the SEAG-bound PH team are in Brisbane, Australia for their overseas training preparations.
