70 houses razed, 1 hurt in Taguig fire


A fire razed 70 houses and injured one person in Barangay Bagumbayan, Taguig City on March 26.

According to Taguig City Fire Station, the fire started at about 3:59 a.m. from the house of Quintino Mañosa at 181 Paso St., Bagumbayan.

The fire spread, reaching the second alarm at 4:13 a.m. before it was put under control at 5:26 a.m. and put out at 6:26 a.m.

One Dioniso Lacaste, 43, suffered a laceration on foot and abrasion on the left forearm. He was treated by the emergency medical services of Taguig.

The fire station reported that about 70 houses were razed, affecting 84 families or 260 individuals. Damage to property was placed at P350,000.

A total of 40 fire trucks and two ambulances responded to the incident.

Investigators are determining the cause of the fire.
