6 nabbed, over P150K shabu seized in Taguig


Police arrested an online seller and five others in a series of operations that led to the seizure of P150,144 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in Taguig on March 23 and March 24.

Operatives from the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit arrested Norhata Awal, 29, online seller, in a buy-bust operation on Roldan Street in Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig.

Recovered from Awal were six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 13 grams worth P88,400, and P500 buy-bust money.

On March 23, operatives from Taguig Police Sub-Station 9, Mobile Patrol Unit and Taguig Peace and Order Unit were conducting “Oplan Galugad” along Magsaysay Street in Barangay New Lower Bicutan when they caught suspects Richard Oliveros, 34, and Michael Kim, 48, in possession of illegal drugs.

Confiscated from the suspects were two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 3.78 grams with a value of P25,704.

At Block 3 Zone 3, Barangay Fort Bonifacio, Taguig Police Sub-Station 1 personnel conducted “Oplan Galugad” and saw suspects Romulo Miranda, 62, and Jommel Miranda, 38. in possession of suspected shabu. The police seized four plastic sachets containing the alleged drugs weighing 1.3 grams with a value of P8,840.

Elements from the Sub-Station 10 also conducted “Oplan Galugad” along MLQ Street in Barangay Bagumbayan, leading to the arrest of Virgilio Laurio Jr., 34, and confiscation of one plastic sachet containing 4 grams of suspected shabu with a value of P27,200.

All the arrested suspects are now detained at the Custodial Facility of Taguig Police and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
