CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, Tuguegarao City -- The Police Regional Office 2 (PRO-2) will remain neutral and that it will respond to requests from any political aspirant for security purposes during their campaign rallies.
Brigadier General Steve B. Ludan made the assurance, stressing that the police under his command is not and will not favor any candidate of political party during the campaign period.
Ludan likewise assured that the PRO-2 personnel will stay neutral and will grant requests for security purposes at the start of local campaigns on March 25.
The PNP workforce was at the forefront in ensuring the safety and security of all the participants during the campaign sorties of former Sen. Bong Bong Marcos, Vice President Leni Robredo, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Sen. Ping Lacson and the senatorial candidates.
The PRO-2, the general stressed, remains apolitical, especially this election season.
Lieutenant Colonel Efren Fernandez II Chief, Regional PIO, said that PRO-2 will always be true to its mandate and responsibilities as deputized agency of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for the 2022 NLE.
General Ludan is encouraging the people to report to his office any police personnel under PRO-2 who will be found to be partisan so his office could take appropriate action.
