Man arrested after snatching woman’s necklace in Tondo

A man was arrested by police after snatching a necklace of a 43-year-old call center agent in Tondo, Manila on Sunday, March 20.

Police Lt. Col. Harry Ruiz Lorenzo lll, commander of Manila Police District (MPD) Moriones Police Station 2, identified the suspect as Angelo Garcia, 24, a resident of Moriones Street, Tondo.

Based on the police report, the victim and her son were onboard a jeepney when the suspect snatched her necklace.

The victim chased the suspect while shouting for help, catching the attention of the patrolling police officers who immediately responded and arrested the snatcher.

Police recovered from the suspect the victim’s necklace reportedly worth P4,350 with a pendant worth P5,800.

Garcia is now under the custody of MPD Dagupan outpost and will be charged with robbery.
