5 arrested in drug-busts in Las Pinas and Pasay City


A child in conflict with the law (CICL) and four others were arrested during the simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation (SACLEO) conducted in Las Pinas and Pasay City.

In Las Pinas City, a certain “Ted,” 16, a student, was arrested by members of the Daang Hari Sub-Station while in possession of 12.3 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P1,476 at about 3:10 p.m. along Aster Extension, TS Cruz Subdivision, Barangay Almanza Dos, Las Pinas City on Monday, March 21.

Col. Jaime Santos, Las Pinas police chief, said the suspect was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Develiopment (DSWD) for rehabilitation.

In Pasay City, Col. Cesar Paday-os, city police chief, said four suspects, two of them female and listed in the police drug watch list, were arrested in a separate drug-bust operation conducted by members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU).

The suspects were identified as Eduardo Valena, 63; Lenie Salvador, 53;Joseph Del Monte, 55; and Divina Manalili, 50.

Paday-os said Valena and Salvador were arrested at about 10:30 p.m. along 1145 M. Santos St., Barangay 26 Zone 4. Confiscated from them during the buy-bust operation were 2.7 grams of shabu worth P18,360.

In the second buy-bust operation conducted by members of SDEU, Del Monte and Manalili were arrested at about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, at 2174 Leveriza St., Barangay 38, Zone 5.

Some 2.4 grams of shabu worth P16,320 were confiscated from the suspects.

All the arrested suspects are now detained at the Pasay City police custodial facility and charged for illegal possession of drugs.

The confiscated shabu and marijuana leaves were brought to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
