PRO2 captures more than 100 law violators, facilitates surrender of 40 NPA members


CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan --- A 24-hour regionwide simultaneous law enforcement operations of the Police Regional Office 2 resulted in the arrest of more than 100 persons involved in illegal drugs, wanted persons, loose firearms, illegal logging and the surrender of 40 New People’s Army (NPA) .

During the implementation of search warrants and buy-bust operations, ten drug personalities were arrested after they yielded 500 grams of marijuana with an estimated value of P41,250.00 based on Standard Drug Price.

Valley Cops also arrested four suspects and confiscated four firearms in violation of RA No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

The implementation of search warrants and other police operations led to the confiscation of 47 firearms.

On the same day, 119 of 16 top most wanted persons were arrested.

In line with the government's campaign to end local communist armed conflict, PRO2 also facilitated the surrender of a CTG regular member with firearms, six NPA in the Barrio and 34 CTG supporters.

PRO2 Regional Director, Brigadier General Steve Ludan lauded the operating teams for other notable operational accomplishments in the campaign against criminality and insurgency.
