Police seized P22.5 million worth of marijuana from four individuals in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Sta. Lucia, Pasig City on Monday, March 14.
Brig. Gen. Randy Q. Peralta, the director of the Philippine National Police - Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), identified the suspects as Mivier Miranda Jr., 25; Abdel Badio, 26; Jeffrey Tavas, 37; and Dante Garbida, 29.
Operatives of the Special Operations Unit 5 (SOU 5) of the PNP-DEG and the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Pasig City Police Station (CPS) conducted the transaction and arrested the suspects at around 6:15 p.m. on East Bank Road in Soldiers Village, Barangay Sta. Lucia, Pasig City.
Police recovered 15 kilos of high grade marijuana with a market value of P22,500,000.
A single P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, a smart phone, assorted identification cards (IDs), and drug paraphernalia such as a marijuana tube were also confiscated from the suspects, the police said.
The suspects and the evidence are in the custody of the SOU 5 of the PNP-DEG for proper disposition and documentation.
