Family business? PDEA arrests 3 generations of drug suspects in Cebu City

It runs in the family.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested on Tuesday, March 15, a 72-year old man, his son and his grandson in a buy-bust in Cebu City.

They were identified as Moises Villanueva, his son Manolo, 36, grandson Wimblo, 18. Also nabbed were Rosita Diana Abelgas, 47, and Mark Bargamento, 26.

Seized from them were P74,800 worth of shabu.

Moises was subject of the operation in Sitio Punyang, Barangay Duljo-Fatima as he was a known maintainer of a drug den that led the PDEA team to dismantle the structure.

“Dismantling of drug dens is considered a high-impact operation as drug dens are breeding ground for violence and criminality and disrupt peace and order in the community,’’ the PDEA said in a statement.

In the said operation, the anti-narcotics team confiscated 27 packs of suspected shabu weighing more or less 11 grams, empty plastics, strips of aluminum foil with shabu residue, buy bust money and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The suspects face charges for violation of Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.’’ (Chito A. Chavez)
