Manolo Blahnik collaborates with Birkenstock for a truly eye-catching collection

Perfect for the ladies who aren’t keen on wearing heels yet

In the fifth episode of “And Just Like That,” the new chapter of the iconic “Sex and the City” franchise, viewers witnessed its lead Carrie Bradshaw undergoing hip surgery and was advised to wear flats, which, for her, is a fashion faux pas. To keep her mind toward her quick recovery, she made her longing to wear heels again her motivation. But if she saw the latest collaboration of Manolo Blahnik, one of her favorite shoe brands, we guess she might reconsider wearing flats for a long time, though we highly doubt it.

On March 14, Manolo Blahnik and Birkenstock announced their joining forces in merging comfort with style through their collaboration collection. The line features the classic Boston and Arizona footwear decked with crystal buckles, a hallmark design of the Spanish fashion designer as seen on his Hangisi pumps.

“Birkenstocks have been in my wardrobe since the very beginning (of time!),” Blahnik said in a statement. “I have loved and worn mine for many years. I am thrilled that we have been able to collaborate, fusing the Manolo Blahnik aesthetic with the everyday comfort of Birkenstocks is simply wonderful.”

The sandals come in six styles featuring materials such as fuchsia and blue velvet and black leather. Reports say that the line will be available online at manoloblahnik.com and Manolo Blahnik’s retail locations on March 24, and will be followed up by its second release in June.
