PNP to probe, submit report on alleged Reds-'Yellow' collusion to disrupt May 9 polls

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be conducting investigation on the "concern" raised by President Duterte on the alleged collusion of the communist rebels and a political opposition to disrupt the conduct of the May 9 elections.

PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said they will submit a report based on their own intelligence works on the allegation that was also hurled by some politicians against the group of presidential candidate and Vice President Leni Robredo.

"We will look at in and submit the report to the President... We are only one of the agencies so we were directed by the Commander-In-Chief, we will submit our report to him," said Carlos.

It was Cavite Rep. Boying Remulla who first floated the allegation of the presence of communist rebels and supporters during the campaign sortie of Robredo and her running mate Sen. Kiko Pangilinan in General Trias in Cavite wherein more than 47,000 people showed up.

Remulla also alleged that those who attended the campaign sortie were paid P500 each. The Remullas are supporting Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte.

Presidential candidate Sen. Panfilo Lacson also raised alarm on the support of communist rebels and groups to Robredo.

Duterte also issued a statement on the possible collusion of communist rebels and what he referred to as Dilawan (Yellows which refer to the color symbol of the Liberal Party).

Netizens and supporters of Robredo and Pangilinan slammed the allegations, saying it is just a propaganda over what they say as a huge success of people's campaign in all Robredo sorties.
