BBM Vlog deep-dive: 'Benigno Aquino' is a die-hard Bongbong supporter

Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos has been using vlogs to reach as wide an audience as possible ahead of the May 9, 2022 elections. With now over 200 of these vlogs posted on his YouTube channel, a scouring of noteworthy snippets in these videos is in order.

In BBM Vlog no.186, we learn that coincidence can pick out details from a person's past and twist them in very jaw-dropping way.

Marcos began the vlog by talking about how political caravans or motorcades are becoming more commonplace.

"Marami na talaga ang gumagawa ng mga caravan na ito, mga Red Day ma sinasabi nila (A lot of people are now doing these caravans, these so-called Red Days)," the former senator said.

What's not common is for your perceived foe or rival--or that of your family's--to become your "die-hard supporter". This didn't technically happen to Marcos, but the next closest thing did, as he would narrate in the video.

"May isang mama pa naka-motorsiklo nakapulang t-shirt. Pero ang ginawa niya sumulat siya sa papel na 'Solid BBM kami!' tapos dinikit niya doon sa likod niya (There was a motorcycle-riding man who wore a red t-shirt. What he did was he wrote 'Solid BBM kami! ' on a piece of paper and then slapped it on his shirt)," he said.

Impressed by the man's creativity and effort, Team Marcos sought him out in order to give him free Marcos merch, as one would say. And find him they did, but it was learning the supporter's name that made the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer's day.

"Nagulat kami na yung taong yun, ay ang pangalan niya Benigno Aquino (We were surprised to learn that the person's name was Benigno Aquino). Who would expect that a very passionate Marcos supporter would be named 'Benigno Aquino?'" an amused Marcos said.
