ECHO didn’t even have to break a sweat in capturing its sixth victory in seven games as it won by default after Nexplay Evos failed to arrive to the game venue on Sunday, March 13.
The MPL-PH operating committee awarded ECHO a 2-0 victory and full three points as it strengthened its hold of the top spot with a 6-1 record and 18 points on the board at the end of the first round of the double round-robin eliminations.
Under 7.3.4.2.8. of the MPL-PH Season 9 rule book, teams must prepare for the match an hour prior to starting and entering the game online fifteen (15) minutes before the match. The rule also states that if one team fails to enter the match room which has been prepared after twenty minutes, the late team by default is considered to have lost the matches twice in a row.
The game was originally slated at 8 pm.
There’s no official word yet from Nexplay Evos as of posting time but NXPE head coach revealed in a tweet to Onic Philippines’ Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy that the squad was on its way to the venue and has been travelling for five hours already.
