Bea Alonzo reacts to mean comments about her

Actress Bea Alonzo has gamely shared her two cents about her bashers, who were reacting to her relationship with John Lloyd Cruz, her transfer to another network, her "flopped" projects, and the way she speaks in English.

Most of these "mean" tweets were about Bea's transfer to GMA Network, the rival network ABS-CBN for two decades.

"Siyempre alam mo, madali sa atin mag comment, 'di ba, pero di natin alam yung nangyayari," she said. "Well, I acknowledged your comment, you are entitled to your own opinion, but that doesn't make it true. Marami pong nangyayari at maraming dahilan. At lahat kami ay okay."

Later, Bea reiterated that it wasn't an easy decision for her.

"Super tagal kong pinag-isipan and I have my own reasons for it," she related. "And I wish ma-isa-isa ko sa inyo pero hindi ko na kailangan gawin yun cause I don't have to actually explain myself. Cause I think, I've done that."

In terms of "using" John Lloyd Cruz for publicity, Bea noted that in a way they both "benefited" from the partnership and friendship that they built for the past 20 years.

"It's not a one-way street," she said.

She also explained the real score between her and John Lloyd.

"Hindi naging kami pero there's more to a friendship than having a romantic relationship."

Bea defended herself when an online user pointed out that she's not a "versatile actress" and that most of her projects are not successful.

"Siguro dapat nag-research muna siya bago niya sinabi to. Parang mali siya dito kasi parang wala naman akong nag-flop na movie," she proudly said, extending her gratitude to her fans who supported her since day 1.

According to her, she's more than John Lloyd's reel partner.

"Marami din naman akong hits na wala si JLC," she said. "Like 'Four Sisters and a Wedding,' 'Eerie.' And 'Eerie' is a horror film. Yun lang po."

Some netizens also called out Bea for how she "overacts" when she speaks in English.

"Actually, totoo," she said. "Hindi ko talaga first language yung English but tina-try ko mag-English kasi gusto kong ma-improve yung sarili ko. But I think there's nothing wrong with that, di ba. I mean, kanya kanyang trip yan. Try mo rin!"
