LTO, PITX conduct free seminar, validation exam for PUV drivers

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) conducted on Saturday, March 12, a free seminar and online validation exam for public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers who need to renew their license.

About 50 drivers from various bus and jeepney companies operating in PITX joined the seminar to learn about road safety, defensive driving techniques, traffic laws, rules and regulations, LTO portal registration, and comprehensive driver’s education.

According to the LTO, the seminar is now a requirement for driver’s license renewal applicants, followed by an online validation exam to determine whether or not applicants may get their license.

Aside from the free seminar and validation exam, LTO officials also inaugurated the LTO-PITX Paranaque Licensing Center on Feb. 23 to provide the public with better access to the agency’s licensing services.

The center is open for walk-in transactions on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The agency also provides vehicle registration services such as Motor Vehicle (MV) registration renewal, emission testing, and third party insurance (TPL) in PITX through its LTO on Wheels which visits the land port monthly on Saturdays.

The LTO plans to add registration services in the LTO-PITX Paranaque Licensing Center soon.

“Nagpapasalamat kami sa LTO, lalo na sa LTO-PITX, para sa paglapit ng serbisyong ito sa mga mahal nating tsuper (We thank LTO especially the LTO-PITX for making these services accessible for our drivers),” PITX Corporate Affairs and Gov’t Relations Head Jason Salvador, said.

“Patuloy kaming makikipagtulungan sa iba’t ibang ahensya at organisasyon para mailapit ang mga ganitong serbisyo sa tao. (We will continue to coordinate with different agencies and organizations to make these services more accessible to people),” he added.
