Woman’s body in sack found afloat in Manila Bay


A woman’s body stuffed in a sack was found floating near a barge in Manila Bay in Tondo, Manila, on Thursday, March 10.

Police investigators are establishing the identity of the woman described as about 50 to 60 years old, with a tattoo on the right side of the shoulder, and wearing a black shirt and legging pants.

Police Lt. Adonis Aguila, chief of Manila Police District (MPD) Homicide Section, said the body was found by Cris Agas, 23, a welder, near the edge of a barge at Ramp 1 of Ocean Transport Shipyard at Vitas, Manila Bay Area.

Agas along with Darwin Bacaiso, security guard of the barge, reported the discovery of the body to the Smokey Police Community Precinct (PCP).

The victim sustained wounds on the head, according to the police report.

The body was brought to the Cruz Funeral Morgue. (Terence Ranis)
