Some 430 children aged five to 11 years old were vaccinated in the newly opened pediatric Covid-19 vaccination site at the fast food restaurant, McDonalds, on Wednesday, March 9, and Thursday, March 10.
According to the Pasig City Public Information Office (PIO), 190 kids were inoculated in the venue on March 9, and 240 on March 10.
After the children lined up at the registration area, they proceeded to an area where the children were counselled and asked to sign documents indicating their final consent to the vaccination.
After getting jabbed, each child received a happy meal.
The vaccination process remains to be by schedule, with parents or legal guardians registering their children online through the PasigPass website (https://pasigpass.pasigcity.gov.ph/).
The city government aims to inoculate 102,100 children aged five to 11 residing in the city, as per the data from the Department of Health (DOH).
As of March 10, a total of 15,868 children received their first dose, and 8,243 their second dose since the start of the vaccination rollout for the age group on Wednesday, Feb. 9.
On the first day of the pediatric rollout on Wednesday, Feb. 9, the city public health office logged 1,650 inoculated children.
The operational Covid-19 vaccination sites for the five to 11 age group are at McDonalds Arcovia, SM City East Ortigas, SM Hypermarket Tiendesitas, and the Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH), as of March 10.
Children without comorbidities may be vaccinated in the sites at McDonalds Arcovia, SM City East Ortigas, or SM Hypermarket Tiendesitas.
Children with comorbidities must be inoculated in the PCGH’s vaccination area.
The vaccination sites at Buting Elementary School and Manggahan High School are no longer operational due to the start of or in preparation of face-to-face classes.
