Motorcycle ride-hailing firm JoyRide announced on Thursday, March 10, that it will start offering car transportation service to commuters by the end of March, now that the National Capital Region (NCR) is under Covid-19 Alert Level 1.
Mr. Noli Eala, JoyRide senior vice president for corporate affairs, said the car transportation service will be launched in Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Metro Cebu.
“Finally, commuters will now have another choice for safe, comfortable, and affordable car rides to their destination despite the ongoing pandemic and rising fuel prices,” Eala said in a statement.
“JoyRide Car seeks not just to be another player in the market but a viable and highly competitive option in the car-hailing landscape,” he added.
Eala assured commuters a safe and comfortable ride with their experienced driver-partners under the new normal.
JoyRide app offers delivery, motorcycle or tricycle transport, and "pabili" or buy-for-me services.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) gave JoyRide a transport network company (TNC) accreditation last Feb. 24 which allowed the bike firm to provide car transportation service to its customers.
Meanwhile, JoyRide announced that it is looking for transport network vehicle service (TNVS) drivers and operators who want to work for their car transportation service.
