Fair weather in most of Luzon; LPA affects Palawan, VisMin – PAGASA

A generally fair weather with a slight chance of isolated rain showers is expected in most of Luzon. Meanwhile, the low pressure area (LPA) may bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao, the State weather bureau said on Thursday, March 10.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said that the LPA was last spotted 255 kilometers (km) south-southwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan or 465 km west of Zamboanga City.

“Ang LPA ay nananatili pa ring mababa ang tiyansa na maging bagyo (The LPA remains less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone),” said PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio in a public weather forecast.

Although less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone, the weather disturbance will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Residents of the said areas were warned against flash floods and landslides that the LPA and shear line may bring.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally called “amihan,” is expected to bring generally fair weather condition with a slight chance of light rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, rest of MIMAROPA, Aurora, Quezon, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon.
