Do not be afraid to criticize us.
This was what aspiring president Vice President Leni Robredo told her supporters in Surigao del Sur as she encouraged them to keep track of her promises and critical in her administration if elected.
“'Pag kami po hinalal ninyo, ang aming aasahan sa inyo ay babantayan n'yo kami na pag kami po nagkamali, hindi kayo matatakot punahin kami. Dahil kung ayaw na po naming makinig sa puna, pareho nalang kami noong ating mga ayaw na klase ng politiko (If we are elected, we expect you to keep track on us that if we make mistakes, don't be afraid to criticize us. Because if we don't want to listen to your criticisms, then we would just be the kind of politicians that we don't like)," Robredo said in a multi-sectoral assembly on Tuesday, March 8, in Tandag City.
Robredo stressed that she wants the people to act as the check and balance of her administration, adding that they must keep track of the promises she made during the campaign.
The Vice President also reiterated her call to supporters to be her administration's partner in governance if she wins the presidency.
“Kaya yung amin pong kahilingan sa inyo tulong, hindi lang ngayong kampanya, pero pag nakaupo na kami... sana kabahagi pa din kayo ng aming pamamahala (We are seeking your help not just during the election but when we are already in the position...we hope you can be part of our leadership),” Robredo said.
On Wednesday, March 9, Robredo carries on with her campaign trail in Surigao del Norte to visit the beneficiaries of Angat Buhay Sustainable Livelihood and Training (AB SLT) in Barangay Danawan, Surigao City and meet with Bayugan City Mayor Kirk Asis and barangay leaders.
The presidential aspirant will also be in Cabadbaran City and Butuan City in Agusan del Norte Wednesday afternoon to meet sector groups. She will cap off the day with a grand people's rally at Guingona Park in Butuan City.
