Muntinlupa City’s active Covid-19 cases now only 23


Muntinlupa City’s active Covid-19 cases continued to decrease with one barangay registering zero tally.

According to data from the City Health Office (CHO), Muntinlupa’s active cases totaled 23 as of March 8 including four new cases, seven recoveries and zero deaths.

Muntinlupa has 39,839 confirmed Covid-19 cases, 39,202 recoveries and 614 deaths since the pandemic started in 2020.

Of the 23 active cases, Buli, the smallest barangay, recorded zero active cases while Alabang has six; Tunasan, five; Ayala Alabang, four; Poblacion, three; Cupang, two; and Putatan, Bayanan and Sucat, one each.

Putatan, Bayanan, Cupang and Sucat tallied one new case each on March 8. Alabang has three recoveries followed by Poblacion with two, and Putatan and Bayanan with one each.

The Muntinlupa City government continues to publish the daily Covid-19 updates. The Department of Health and some local government units (LGUs) have stopped giving the public daily updates and opted to have weekly reports.

As of March 5, the Muntinlupa City government has fully vaccinated 451,790 adults, or 118 percent of the target population of 383,021.

In addition, 94,784 fully vaccinated individuals have already received their booster shots, or 25 percent of the target.

By barangay, Ayala Alabang has the highest booster shot rate at 38 percent (6,280 recipients) followed by Tunasan, 31 percent (12,614); Buli, 30 percent (2,148); Alabang, 27 percent (13,191); Putatan, 24 percent (16,233); Cupang, 22 percent (9,585); Bayanan, 20 percent (5,484); Poblacion, 18 percent (15,362); and Sucat, 18 percent (7,665).

Muntinlupa also has 35,981 minors aged 12 to 17 years old who are fully vaccinated, and 2,507 kids aged five to 11 who got the second dose.
