Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez announced that a liaison officer from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) was designated at the City Hall to attend to the concerns of homeowners associations in the city.
Olivarez said with the designation of Atty. Leah Salvatierra to the city government, homeowners and homeowners’ associations, including neighborhood associations, can now bring their concerns with the DHSUD directly to the City Hall.
“We are very grateful to the DHSUD, through its National Capital Region (NCR) Regional Director Jeofrey Tupas, for detailing Atty. Salvatierra to us to help attend to the concerns of our homeowners,” Olivarez said.
Eva Nono, Parañaque City’s External and Homeowners Affairs (EHAO) head, said Atty. Salvatierra will be reporting to their office located at the 4th Floor of City Hall at least twice a month starting March 15.
Nono said the designation of Atty. Salvatierra was made under the provisions of Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2, Series of 2022, between the DHSUD and the Department of the Interior and Local Government which mandates, among others, DHSUD to provide technical assistance to HOAs, federations, and confederations within their jurisdiction.
She also said the arrangement revives the previous arrangement with the then Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) (now DHSUD) that designated an officer in Parañaque but was discontinued because of the pandemic.
She said homeowners' associations may schedule their appointments with Atty. Salvatierra through the EHAO for consultations or to submit documents that need DHSUD action.
