Light guides RSG PH to bounce back win over Blacklist

There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel and for RSG Philippines, it was Dylan “Light” Catipon who guided the squad to a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Blacklist International and arrest its two-game slide in the MPL Philippines Season 9 on Sunday, March 6.

With the series on the line and Blacklist totally in control, Light pulled off three crucial kicks using his tank Chou none bigger than the two where he caught Kent “Kevier” Lopez’s Lancelot during the two Lord takes to help RSG end the grueling Week 3 with a win.

The first kick happened at the 10-minute mark where Light managed to disable Kevier which allowed Demonkite to complete the Lord steal.

Light then followed it up with another kick on Dexstar’s Lolita to create more space for RSG before he once more isolated Kevier in the deciding clash to secure the Lord and score a wipeout against Blacklist.

Light finished with a 0-1-6 KDA while Eman “Emann” Sangco provided the damage, unloading a neat 7-0-3 score line on the Beatrix pick.

The win actually redeemed RSG from a 10-4 Game 2 defeat where it had the chance to take the series after taking the opener The crew’s jungle Chou pick in that game, however, back fired as Blacklist took advantage to pull off the equalizer.

Kevier continued to flourish on the jungle role for Blacklist as he unleashed a 2-0-6 KDA on the Lancelot while Kiel “Oheb” Soriano starred with a 6-1-3 tally on the Beatrix.

RSG actually had a dominant start to the series as it dealt Blacklist a 14-2 drubbing. Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto led the attack with a 6-1-4 KDA on the Hayabusa while Arvie “Aqua” Calderon added an uber-efficient showing of 0-0-10 KDA on his Kagura.

RSG now caught TNC in the second spot of the standings with identical 4-2 record and 11 points on the board. Blacklist on the other hand keeps its spot at the sixth with a 1-5 record good for six points.
