San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said the booster drive-thru and satellite areas further highlight San Juan City’s efforts in its vaccination program after leading the vaccination coverage in all categories, including the number of booster shots administered in adults and children aged 5 to 11 years old, based on Department of Health (DOH) data released last month.

Zamora led the launch of the booster shot vaccination drive-thru stations at the City Hall Parking and at the Makabagong San Juan Plaza in N. Domingo Street.

He went on to open five new booster shot satellite areas in the city in Agora Public Market, Santolan Town Plaza, at the 2nd Floor of Connecticut Parking, Fountain Area Center Mall, and at the Entrance of VMall near the Chapel of Greenhills Mall.

“We cannot be complacent at this time even when we are already under Alert Level 1. The battle against COVID-19 is not over yet and we want to make sure that all our constituents get their booster shots for their protection," Zamora said.

The mayor explained that the program specifically intends to give the public easier access to booster shots and to cater to more people who are willing to get the booster but could not find time to register and wait for the schedule.

He noted that the sites are conspicuously located in commercial and high foot traffic areas to attract and convince more people to get the jab.

Zamora said the drive-thru and satellite vaccination areas are also open to non-residents of San Juan.

“The drive thru and satellite vaccination areas will welcome anyone, even the non-residents, as long as they are qualified to get the booster shot and their 2nd dose is already past three months. All they need to bring is their vaccination card for validation purposes,” Mayor Zamora said.

The drive-thru vaccinations at the city hall and at the Makabagong San Juan Plaza are open on Mondays to Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the satellite sites at Greenhills Mall, Santolan Town Plaza and the Agora Market are open on Mondays to Sundays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As of March 3, the city only recorded five active Covid-19 cases, 20,850 recoveries, and 360 deaths. This is the second day wherein no new deaths have been recorded in the city.
