P408M worth of shabu seized in Bulacan drug bust


Authorities seized on Wednesday, Mar. 2, some P408 million worth of shabu following the arrest of.an alleged big-time drug trafficker in Marilao, Bulacan.

In a report, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that Jalon Supe Laurete of Bacoor, Cavite was nabbed at Kilometer 23 of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Barangay Lias at around 10 a.m.

After the operation, the teams from the PDEA, Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) confiscated 60 kilos of shabu wrapped in Chinese tea bags, one Toyota Altis, one Android phone, one Nokia phone, one Nokia analog phone and identification cards from Laurete.

PDEA said it is now preparing charges against Laurete for violation of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operation was carried out by the PDEA Central Luzon, PDEA Intelligence and Investigation Service (IIS), PDEA National Capital Region (NCR), PDEA Special Enforcement Service (SES), Intelligence Service Armed Forces (ISAF), PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), NICA, and Marilao Municipal Police Station (MPS).
