Zamboanga alert level drops from 3 to 1

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Zamboanga City was placed under Alert Level 1 starting Tuesday, March 1, until March 15, based on Resolution 163-A passed February 27, 2022 by the National Interagency Task Force.

Zamboanga City had been under Alert Level 3 from February 15 to 28 but was placed under the new alert level following a steady decline in the number of active COVID-19 cases.

As of February 25, the Zamboanga COVID tracker reported a total of 213 active cases. Only 12 new cases were reported and 25 new recoveries.

Majority of the cases or 67.3 percent are asymptomatic while less than one percent are severe and critical.

There was also one new death recorded for the same period.

As of February 24, 69 percent of Zamboanga City residents have been fully vaccinated while 71 percent of its population are partially vaccinated.

A total of 640,703 individuals have received their first dose while 620,740 of the target population have received their second jab.
