Boy, 8, dies after being hit by a dump truck in Pangasinan town

BINMALEY, Pangasinan – An eight-year-old boy died after being hit by a dump truck along Barangay Nagpalangan here on Monday, Feb. 28.

Investigation revealed that the victim, Xian Ferrer, together with three minor companions, were crossing the road when a fast-approaching green dump truck driven by Noli Solomon, 49, a resident of Brgy. San Vicente, San Jacinto town, hit Ferrer.

“As a result, said pedestrian allegedly rolled-over and was pinned beneath the front right wheel of the truck and the left hand was detached from the shoulder/body of the victim,” the police report said.

Ferrer was brought to Lingayen District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by an attending physician.
