Blacklist duo, PUBG bets headline Sibol SEAG roster


The Sibol National Team Selection has chosen 54 athletes to represent the country in the eight esports titles to be featured in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam in May.

A total of 10 teams and three individual players came out victorious in the tough national team qualifiers in each esports titles which started last January and just ended last weekend.

Leading the PH bets are the seven players from M3 World Champions Blacklist International led by its dynamic duo of Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario. The squad is looking to replicate the Sibol MLBB’s gold medal finish in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in the 2019 edition of the biennial meet.

Khi Esports and Zap Battlegroundz, two teams which topped the PUBG Mobile Pro League – Philippine qualifier will also be donning the country’s color for the title Player’s Unknown Battleground (PUBG) Mobile with five players each.

Grindsky Eris and LF Adoption (now Oasis Gaming in the WCS Philippines) will be joining the Women’s and Men’s Division of League of Legend: Wild Rifts while West Point Esports will represent the country in the game’s PC version, League of Legends.

In tactical shooter games, the five players from Pacific Macta will raise the flag in Crossfire while four players each from Rise National Esports and God Ascends will be testing their mettle against the SEA bests in Free Fire.

Imperial Esports, on the other hand, will try to deliver a medal in the Arena of Valor after the country came out empty handed in the event in the 2019 SEAG.

Jorrel Aristorenas, Rad Novales, Aljhon Argete Cañas, meanwhile, looks to shock host Vietnam and other favorites to win the FIFA Online 4 event.

Sibol as yet to identify the actual number of the delegation it hopes to send to Vietnam but Philippine Esports Organization Secretary General Joebert Yu confirmed that at least 13 coaches are set to join the athletes.
