TABUK CITY,Kalinga – Two more local tourists were arrested while transporting marijuana bricks worth P1.2 million at the police checkpoint at Barangay Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga on the afternoon of February 25.
Kalinga Provincial Police Office (KPPO) Director Col. Peter Tagtag said the two suspects are believed to be accomplices of suspects earlier arrested with P13-million marijuana bricks at a checkpoint early morning of Feb.25 2022, in Barangay Dinakan,Lubuagan, Kalinga,
Tagtag said joint operatives of the Tabuk City police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) received information that two male persons carrying back-pack who came from Tinglayan were transporting marijuana bricks passing Tabuk City going to nearby province of Cagayan.
The suspects were identified as Limuel Legaspi Alarde,21,of Barangay San Vicente,Tuao,Cagayan and Ralf King Gaffud Prado,18, of Barangay San Martin,De Porres, Paranaque City.
Authorities intercepted the suspects at 2:30 p.m., and recovered from them 10 bricks of dried marijuana, and a tube of dried marijuana weighing 10,161.00 grams, amounting P1, 213,920.00.
On site inventory of the confiscated pieces of evidence was conducted in the presence of the arrested suspects, and duly witnessed by DOJ representative Lailanie Balao-ing; Barangay Kagawad Ricardo Agnaya of Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City and media representative.
