Team Pacquiao GG enters Wild Rift pro scene; Oasis Gaming picks up LF Adoption


Team Pacquiao GG has entered the League of Legends: Wild Rift professional scene through its newly formed Team UNDRGRND as it acquired the roster of AXS which dominated the open qualifiers for the WCS Philippines.

The esports organization headed by boxing legend Manny Pacquiao announced on Thursday, Feb. 24 the composition of the team led by Don, Sayonara and former Amihan Esports players Beaver-Ed "Orthros" Villanueva. Also in the lineup are Richard "Lara1" Lara and Miguel "Mitsura" Gavin along with substitutes Karl “Karlll” Bautista and Cookiez. Shoutcaster and TPGG talent Shin Boo “Sh1nboo” Ponferrada will serve as the team manager.

Team UNDRGRND, then-AXS, had a smooth sailing open qualifiers as the lone unbeaten team during the swiss round before sweeping Sunsparks, 3-0, in the second round to punch its ticket to the WCS PH group stage.

Meanwhile, LF Adoption has found a new home as Oasis Gaming picks up the roster of the Sibol representatives and WCS PH qualified team.

The team composed of Mark Clinton "Etaf" Pelayo, Golden Hart "DemonKite" Dajao, Dragon Hart "Dragon" Dajao, Rency Lorejas "Renzy" Barcos, Julius Jerome "Edaf" Pelayo, Renzel "Ecilaa" Ayuban, and John Marlou "xisx" Mañosca made waves in the off-season after beating Fennel Adversity to take the lone spot that will represent the country in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.

The crew continued to turn heads in the qualifiers when it made it through the swiss round qualifiers before cruising to a 3-1 victory over GIGA squad in the second round of the qualifiers and book a spot to the regular season.

The WCS PH opens on Friday, Feb. 25.
