Mongolia logs 517 new COVID-19 cases, 4 more deaths


ULAN BATOR, Mongolia -- Mongolia registered 517 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the national tally to 464,394, the country's health ministry said Friday.

Meanwhile, four more people aged over 60 died from the viral disease in the past day, raising the national death toll to 2,095, it said.

There are now a total of 12,934 active COVID-19 cases across Mongolia.

So far, 66.8 percent of the country's 3.4 million people have received two COVID-19 vaccine doses, while more than 1 million people aged over 18 received a third shot.

In addition, more than 101,300 people have received a fourth shot, which the country started to administer in January on a voluntary basis.
