Gibo Teodoro vows to review gov’t expenditure program to support PH economic recovery

UniTeam Alliance senatorial candidate and former congressman Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro on Friday vowed to prioritize measures that aim to spur Philippine economic recovery following a two-year fight with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The former Tarlac representative said reviewing the National Expenditure Program (NEP) of the next administration would be crucial to ensure that an effective stimulus package would be in place.

“The first thing is to study the NEP and to give our insights to what sectors would need more help than others,” Teodoro said.

“We need to review where the money is going. What stimulus packages will be part of the NEP,” he added.

Aside from this, Teodoro assured he would also push for necessary measures that would support economic recovery and sustained pace of economic expansion.

The former defense secretary, likewise, said he believes that the business community would be supportive of these measures and would be willing to invest once there is certainty in the market, but the government would be the “catalyst of this.”
