Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC), the largest expressway builder and operator in the Philippines, has forayed into the digital space via MPT DriveHub, a travel companion app.

MPT DriveHub transforms MPTC into a premier mobility enabler integrating motoring and travel services in a single digital platform, MPTC President and CEO Rodrigo Franco announced during the app's virtual launch on Thursday, Feb. 24.

"MPT DriveHub is part of our business diversification initiatives to provide the ultimate mobility experience to motorists,” he explained.

In the future, the app will also have e-wallets, a motorists’ marketplace, and electric vehicle charging locator maps.

Starting March 1, 2022, motorists can use the app in the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX), and the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).

Soon, MPT DriveHub will also be available for use in the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).

The move is timely as the country accelerates its digital transformation.

Available for both iOS and Android devices, MPT DriveHub aids motorists in planning their trips – from ensuring they have ample load on their RFID accounts to navigating through the expressway with ease.

The all-in-one app has three key functions: RFID Transactions, Trip Planning, and Roadside Assistance.

"In the future, we will introduce more services, such as e-wallets, motorists’ marketplace, and electric vehicle charging locator map to equip our motorists with more solutions that will further enhance their journeys,” confirmed MPT Mobility Vice President for Business Development Mark Richmund M. De Leon.

“We’re open to partnerships and app integrations to accelerate the MPT DriveHub’s service offerings,” he added.

At present, MPT DriveHub enables users to manage their RFID accounts, from checking their balances to reloading and calculating toll fees.

Users are able to know where the nearest pit stops are for dining, bathroom breaks, gas-ups, or shopping, aside from having accesd to traffic advisory and updates.

In addition, MPT DriveHub allows users to request for immediate roadside assistance in NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX or CALAX.

“As the largest tollway builder and operator in the Philippines, we have a huge role to play in improving mobility in the country, which can be addressed through digital innovations, like MPT DriveHub," said Chief Digital and Information Officer Carlo L. Cagalingan.
